Mercedes Auction Results Amelia Island 2018

Despite weather concerns, the 2018 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance was a successful and well attended event as were the collector car auctions held in the area. The Concours itself was moved from Sunday to Saturday, last minute, due to “impending inclement weather.’ As a result, RM Sotheby’s also adjusted their schedule, moving their sale up a day to Friday, as not to conflict with the revised concours schedule. I’m sure there was a lot of hand wringing among the various organizers and auction consignors, but in the end, everything worked out. A similar situation happened in 2017 (Featured image of Bonhams’ lot 153, 1969 280 SE Convertible by Andy Reid).

About a week before the events at Amelia Island, Mercedes-Market put together auction previews for three of the four auctions taking place; Bonhams, Gooding and Co. and RM Sotheby’s, we did not cover the Motostalgia auction. You can view our complete auction previews for each auction company with individual car stats, pre-auction analysis and our price predictions by clicking their links above. Complete results for the Mercedes cars that appeared at these three auctions are below. Some of our predictions from the auction preview articles were close, some were off by many tens of thousands, you can’t win them all. What sale (or no sale) surprised you at Amelia Island? Leave a comment at the bottom the article and let us know what raised your eyebrows.

For analysis and some context for the results below, be sure our “Mercedes Market Observations and Analysis from Amelia Island 2018” article here.

Cars are listed by year, oldest to newest. 30 cars were offered by the three aucion companies, all but three at RM Sotheby’s changed hands. All prices listed below INCLUDE buyer’s premium. If the car did not sell, the high bid will be listed in RED indicating a ‘no sale’ / ‘passed lot’.

Auction company names are abbreviated in the result listings like this:to check out our
B = Bonhams
G = Gooding and Co.
RM = RM Sotheby’s
