Mercedes Benz color code 735 G – Astral Silver
Astral Silver – 735 G was the ‘classic’ Mercedes metallic silver color used between 1972 and 1992, if you have a silver car from any of those years, chances are it’s this color. Variance between the various ‘bright silvers’ produced by Mercedes-Benz over the years is slight. In the early 2000s it was ‘Brilliant Silver’ which was eventually replaced by ‘Iridium Silver’ in short, they all look pretty similar and are generically referred to as ‘Mercedes Silver’ despite slight differences really only visible when the different colors are parked next to each other, and even then, it isn’t real easy to tell them apart.
A common color on R107 SLs, sedans and coupes over the 20 year period it was used, anecdotally, one of the most common Mercedes colors of that period.

I have a 190 year 1990 astral silver . Always had paint made up at body shop with label astral silver 735 C11-117
Always been a perfect match . Body shop changed hands ,had another can of astral silver made up .gave them the old can with the full code on and the paint was a terrible match , more gold than silver . Is there more than 1 astral silver ?
The C11-117 code must mean something
Hi Shaun, There is just ONE Astral Silver… and it’s pretty much the ‘classic’ Mercedes silver.
