Mercedes Benz Color Code 512 H – Almondine Red Metallic

Mercedes color code 512 H – Almondine Red Metallic was used during model years 1989 – 1993. It is one of several ‘burgundy metallic’ colors that Mercedes used through the 1980s and into the 90s, they seemed to change them rather often during these years with no one ‘dark red / burgundy metallic’ hue lasting for very long. As a result, we see a lot of misidentified color names in these dark burgundy metallic colors of the 1980s and 90s. Checking the color code on the body tag against a good paint code library is really the only way to know what color you’re looking at.
