By all indications it’s the beginning of another strong year for Mercedes Benz sales numbers 2018. With more vehicle classes and models to choose from, there is something for just about everyone who wants a three pointed star on their hood. February 2018 was the best single sales month for Mercedes-Benz ever with 24,760 units sold.
The entry level SUV, the GLC class, continues to deliver big sales numbers, out selling the C class sedan again, and by a wide margin. C class sales were down over 35% this February compared to last February. Perhaps there were more GLC vehicles available for delivery this year than last. There is no doubt, the American buying public has fully embraced the small SUV segment, just look around the parking lot the next time you go to the grocery store.
According to MBUSA “Mercedes-AMG high-performance models sold 2,469 units in February, with a total of 4,923 units sold year-to-date.” There are more AMG models available today than ever before with more model introductions on the way. Expect to see high performance AMG model sales figures increase even more as we move into Spring and Summer.
S Class sales were up this February compared to the same month in 2017, 350+ cars doesn’t sound like a lot, but when they’re the $100,000 + flagship model, the dollar figure is big.
If anyone is paying attention to what BMW of North America is doing so far (you know the MBUSA execs are)… YTD sales for BMW passenger cars and light trucks, essentially all the BMW vehicles that compete with the MB vehicles above, stands at 42,524*, up from their tally at the end of February last year, but trailing their Bavarian rival by more than 7,500 units.
