Mercedes color code 606 G Maple Yellow was introduced in the early 70s and retired in 1979. It is, today, what we call a ‘period color’. The seventies were a time for some wild colors from a lot of German car manufacturers, Porsche, BMW, Volkswagen and yes, even Mercedes. While Maple Yellow isn’t as ‘loud’ as say, Porsche’s ‘Viper Green’ or even Mercedes’ own Sun Yellow (code 680) or Caledonia Green (code 867) it does make a statement when it pulls up in front of you. It was a fairly popular color for W114 / 115 cars as well as early W1123 chassis cars.
